A Spiritusz Galéria 2012. január 3-tól a megszokott nyitva tartás szerint várja a kedves Látogatókat január 14-ig, Szántó István kiállításával! Január 26-tól pedig, ahogy korábban tájékoztattuk Önöket, a Várfok Galéria Project Room nyitja kapuit! / Spiritusz Gallery will return to its regular opening hours from January 3rd 2012 to 14th January with István Szántó's exhibition! From January 26th, as we informed You previously, it will open its doors as Várfok Gallery Project Room!

Egyúttal szeretnénk részletesen is tájékoztatni a Várfok Galéria Csoportot 2012 januárjától érintő jelentős változásokról! Az újévvel együtt mi is megújulunk: a Várfok Galéria Csoport fejlődésének újabb stádiumába lép. A Spiritusz Galéria, mely eddig önálló intézményként foglalkozott a pályakezdő, fiatal művészgenerációval és képviselte különböző műfajok széles skáláját, megszűnik különálló galériaként működni és Spiritusz Szekció néven beolvad anyaintézményébe, a Várfok Galériába. Ez egy hosszú folyamat végső állomásának tekinthető, melynek előszele talán már érzékelhető volt a Spiritusz Galéria művészgárdájának ez évi átalakulásában, frissülésében, csökkentésében. A Spiritusz Galéria művészei, tehát 2012 januárjától a Várfok Galéria művészkörének Spiritusz Szekcióját fogják alkotni.

A Spiritusz Galéria eddigi kiállítótere, a Várfok Galéria egykori Várfok Terme, a Várfok utca 14. szám alatt azonban nem zárja be kapuit a látogatók előtt. A Várfok Galéria Csoport „bölcsője”, ahol 21 évvel ezelőtt, 1990-ben megnyílt a Várfok Galéria, januártól egy teljesen új kiállítótéri funkciót fog betölteni, az eddigieknél még nagyobb mozgásteret adva, a Várfok Galéria PROJECT ROOM-jaként.

Mi is ez a Project Room, és pontosan mit takarnak ezek a változások? A Project Room, nevéből is adódóan, különböző kiállítási projektek megvalósítását fogja szolgálni, nem csak a Várfok Galéria művészei számára, hanem időről-időre vendégművészek bemutatkozását is lehetővé téve. Vagyis egy friss, dinamikus, kísérletezőbb vonalat kíván képviselni a tradicionálisabb Várfok Galéria kiállítóterét erősítve. Amint az már érzékelhető volt a 2011-es év folyamán, a Várfok Galéria a tavalyi nagy átalakítását követően egyre átfogóbb jellegű, informatívabb kiállítások megrendezésére helyezte a hangsúlyt, és bár nyitott a fotográfia irányába, továbbra is a festészet dominanciája érvényesül termeiben. Emellett azonban szeretnénk lehetőséget adni arra, hogy művészeink kisebb léptékű, de kötetlenebb kiállítások/projektek keretében is bemutatkozhassanak, erre szolgál a Project Room, egy kísérletező, rugalmasabb művészeti programot és színteret biztosítva. Lényege a hely specifikusságában és a műfaji sokszínűségben rejlik. Az egy-egy megrendezett, helyspecifikus kiállítási projekt által a látogató k az egyes életművek, művészeti periódusok kisebb vagy köztes állomásaiba is betekintést nyerhetnek, megismerve a művészeket éppen foglalkoztató, aktuális kérdéseket, témákat.

A Várfok Galéria a Project Room-ban nem csak művészek, hanem fiatal kurátorok számára is lehetőséget kíván biztosítani pályájuk támogatásában, ezért tervei között szerepel egy évente kiírásra kerülő pályázat megvalósítása is. Ennek keretén belül fiatal, pályakezdő kurátorok, művészettörténészek kapnának lehetőséget arra, hogy egy-egy kiállítási tervüket részletesen kidolgozott koncepció alapján a Várfok Galéria Project Room-jában megvalósítsák.

A Várfok Galéria Project Room-ja tehát 2012. január 26-ától nyitja meg kapuit, az első, az új koncepciónak megfelelő kiállítás megnyitójának keretében, melynek szemlélete már tükrözi a kötetlenebb, új irányvonalat. A tér ugyanis egy fiatal, osztrák fotográfust, Christiane Pescheket fogja bemutatni, a német regensburgi Galerie Isabelle Lesmeister jóvoltából. A három országot átívelő projekt, mely a fotók mellett videó-installációt is felvonultat majd, egy lendületes új kezdetnek tekinthető. E kiállítás a Várfok Galériában megrendez&eacut e;sre kerülő nagyszabású Korniss Péter kiállítással egy napon nyílik: egymás mellé állítva a két tárlatot, érezhetővé válik majd a kiállítóterek eltérő koncepciója és a Project Room friss, kísérletező kedve.

We would like to inform you about some important changes concerning Várfok Gallery Group from January 2012. Not only a new year will arrive, but we too are going to renew: Várfok Gallery Group will reach a new phasis in its history. Spiritusz Gallery, having worked as a separate institution with the young artist generation, representing a wide range of different artistic genres, will stop to function as an independent gallery: it will be merged under the name of Spiritusz Section into the mother institution: Várfok Gallery. This is the last station of a long process of which some signs could have probably been perceived along this past year due to the transformations concerning Spiritusz Gallery’s artists’ circle, its renewal and diminution. In essence, from January 2012, the artists of Spiritusz Gallery will form the new Spiritusz Section of Várfok Gallery’s artists’ circle.

At the same time, Spiritusz Gallery’s exhibition hall, that is Várfok Gallery’s former Várfok Hall located under Várfok St. number 14, won’t close its doors to the visitors. The ’cradle’ of Várfok Gallery Group, where Várfok Gallery opened 21 years ago, will hold a new function from January 2012, allowing a bigger margin, as Várfok Gallery’s Project Room.

What does ’Project Room’ mean and what stands exactly beyond these changes? Várfok Gallery’s ’Project Room’, as its name shows, will serve the realisation of different projects, not only for the artists of Várfok Gallery but from time to time, it will allow the presentation of guest artists as well. Its aim is to represent a fresh, dynamic, a sort of experimental direction to enhance this way the more traditional exhibition space of Várfok Gallery. As it was already perceptible during 2011, Várfok Gallery, after the transformations of last year, has started to focus on the organisation of more complex and informative exhibitions, and although the Gallery has opened towards the genre of photography, painting remains dominating in its exhibition halls. Besides, the Gallery would like to offer the possibility for its artists to show their newest works within the frames of smaller, but ’less formal’ exhibitions / projects: this is the aim that the Project Room serves, assuring an experimental, more flexible art program and scene. Its essence lies in the specificity of its space and in the diversity of genres it represents. Due to these space-specific projects, visitors can discover smaller or intermediate stages of different artistic oeuvres and periods, or learn about what topics actually occupy the interest of the artists.

Várfok Gallery’s Project Room aims to give a chance not just to the artists but to young curators as well, in order to help their carriers, that’s why the Gallery is planning to announce each year an application. Within its frames, young curators and art historians would get the chance to realize one of their exhibition projects directly planned for the space of Várfok Gallery’s Project Room.

Várfok Gallery’s Project Room will open its doors on January 26th 2012 within the frames of the first exhibition organized under this new conception: its approach will already reflect the the less formal, new direction. The Project Room is going to present a young, Austrian photographer, Christiane Peschek by favor of the Isabelle Lesmeister Gallery from Regensburg (Germany). The project overarching three countries, will show besides the photos a video-installation too, as a new start within the space’s life. The show will be inaugurated the same day as Péter Korniss’ big scaled exhibition in Várfok Gallery. Laying the two exhibitions alongside, the different conception of the exhibition spaces and the fresh, exprimental atmosphere of the Project Room will be easily perceptible.
